Now onto the who, what, when, where, why. I will try and keep it interesting...if you keep an open mind on the defintion of "interesting".
I am a small town Iowa girl through and through. I have lived in Iowa all my life (one brief stint in Alabama, but that doesn't quite count). I love it here and hope to never leave. I grew up in two small towns and I consider both my home. It is our goal to someday find a small town to raise our son in. There is something about the small town values, I would hate for kellan to have to miss out on that. I graduated high school and moved on to the whole college thing. I attended a couple of community college's to get the basics and shamefully I am still on my road to my bachelors. Yep...STILL...but I must back up.
After college I had a breakup with my high school sweetheart and needed a life change. I needed to be independent and on my own. I moved to Des Moines and started my first "big kid" job. It was there that I would meet the love of my life and (now) baby daddy ;). My life had truly just begun. Enter into my story this handsome man:
Yes, that tall drink of water is my husband. After starting my new job, and swearing off men for a LONG time. I met Justin. Long story short: I broke my computer. He fixed it. I gushed to my grams about him. She said date him. I did. The rest is history...I suckered him into dating me. After inviting myself on our first date, we have been inseparable since. After 3 years of dating, living together, and buying our home:
We were married. We had a small destination ceremony in Florida on the beach with the reception in my mother's backyard. The day I married Justin was the best day of my life (besides the birth of my baby).

My husband is seriously one of the greatest men on the planet. He is so incredibly loving, I feel like I have won the jackpot of husbands. I mean ladies this man still tells me I am beautiful everyday, leaves me little notes around the house, and randomly brings home flowers...just because. He even unloads the dishwasher every night without even being asked...now that is gold! Besides being an amazing husband he is an even better father. Kellan is so lucky! Justin has such patience with him, and has no problem getting up during the night to feed him. He even lets me sleep in on the weekend....it.is.AMAZING! Ok....enough swooning...moving on... We honeymooned in Key West.
And that week was just bittersweet perfection.
We knew that we wanted to have children fairly soon. We figured it would take a while to get pregnant so we just decided if it happened then it was meant to be. Well lets just call me fertile myrtle, not long after we had made this "plan". This happened:
My eggo was preggo. We were over the moon!! I spent the next 9 months sick as a dog.
But we were rewarded with this handsome hamball:
And that's that folks. Our family has begun. We are so blessed to have Kellan in our lives. We are now happy and continually settling into our lives as parents. Kellan is a healthy baby boy and growing like a weed. We are enjoying every second.
Being a mom is the best part of me. When I am not rolling on the floor, reading books, or singing baby songs, I enjoy shopping (what girl doesn't?), decorating, sewing, and spending the few nice days we are blessed with in Iowa, outside.
And there you have it! The very condensed version anyways.
*I am planning on blogging all about the wedding, pregnancy, labor, and all that jazz....there are many stories to be told.
