Mother's Day Meanderings

Mother's Day 2012....sporting my new bracelet ;)

I feel like a majority of my post's on here start and end with the awesomeness that is my husband...so my apologies while I ignite your inner gag reflexes yet again. My mother's day wish this year was to do not a thing...except sleep. After my sister's wedding, this was the first weekend where life slowed down and things were getting back into their normal rhythm.

Now get your brown bags ready....
When winning the jackpot of husbands I scored big.

Justin is like the husband that you imagine you are married to the whole time you are watching a movie...then when it's over you are a little depressed that you are not sharing a home with Ryan Gosseling. Yep, he is my Ryan Gosseling ;). ...I am sure your puke bags are full ;) Moving on...

I had the most relaxing Mother's day. My husband let me sleep in everyday of the weekend and even got up with the babe both nights. It was just sooo nice to do nothing with my two men.

Yes it says Baby Mama ;)
Of course I was showered with a few gifts, but the best part were the heartfelt cards...my hubby can really bring on the tears.  We grilled and played outside and just spent time together doing exactly as I  wished....nothing. It was perfect!

These two boys are my world! I am just reminded of how blessed I am to have them in my life, both happy and healthy. Sorry for the mushiness, but mother's day just makes me so dang thankful.

I hope everyone had a Mother's Day filled with love and relaxation :)
*I promise to be back with a non- gagmefest post later!

You Might Be A Parent If.......

Your toilet paper roll constantly looks like this.....

I caught Kellan peeking around the corner at me (most likely to see if I was looking) I walk into the bathroom to a floor full of toilet paper with holes in it... I am assuming he ate some of it...

Happy Mother's Day!!!!

High Five for Friday

I am linking up with a blog I love From My Grey Desk! Every Friday she host's a link party and people link up to share their five favorite things from the week. So without further or do...My Five Favorites this week:

1. My new wedge brogues.....I have always loved the brogue look, but I just find it a very hard look to wear... enter heeled brogues, my heart flutter's. These are amazing, even more amazing the fact that I scored them on clearance for $10 bucks! You read right...$10 bucks (at Kohl's), and yes I have already tried them on with my red skinny jeans (and my mint one's for that matter) and they look fabulous!

2.My mother's day cocktail....RHUBY DOOBY, my husband and I ate at a local winery a while back and I tried this fabulous wine. It is a little sweet, so I definitely won't be paring this with a steak anytime soon, but it is a great sweet treat after a long day. My awesome husband brought me home a bottle to kick off the Mother's day festivities around here (and yes, I like to turn this holiday into a weekend event...we mom's deserve it!) (Please note the Viola and Bada Bing wines are also amazing!)

3. THE VOW...errrr...CHANNING TATUM...need I say more. My husband got me this movie, at first I thought it would be awkward for him watching my movie husband with me ;) but he kindly sat through the whole thing. This movie is sooo good. If you haven't seen it you must and don't worry I will kindly share my movie husband with you...you're welcome ;).

4. My freshly planted front porch flowers. I am still smiling after a neighbor walking his dog last night stopped and complimented me on my hard work and then said those magical words: "you make it look beautiful every year." awww old man...you have made my week..or month..or life. Now if I keep my dahlia's alive this year is the challenge..what is it with the dahlia's? I always kill them :(.

My hubby and I caught this momma goose leading her little gosseling 's  across the road...she had no regard for traffic so we kindly stopped and let her pass and her sweet babies followed the whole way :).....and I hope I am not wrong by assuming the last in line is the baby daddy, but I don't quite know how these things work in the Geese world.
We would be lost without our mothers :)

5.Mothers. All the mother's in the WORLD, we wouldn't be here without you! Since becoming a mom I have a new found appreciation for my mother and grandmother...well any mom in general. Seriously, my gram's had 7 kids!!!...7!! And she did not once check herself into an insane asylum ;)...and my mother had 3 under 3.. all in diapers....we all deserve a big pat on the back for making it through the day to day and loving our children unconditionally...you will never know your depth's of love for something/someone until you become a mommy :)

Happy Mother's day to ALL the mommy's out there! May you all have a blessed day!!

Missing In Action

I have come up for air!!! It's been 3 months YIKES!!  I know, I have been very neglecting of this blog, my only excuse: I have a 10 month old who is on the loose and constantly into EVERYTHING. Just while typing this I discovered I have this morning's banana smeared all over my hands...and now my husband's laptop (whoopsie's). In other words, I have been busy doing all things mom AND helping my sister with her wedding has also led to my blog neglect. Enough with the excuses.....I'm BACK! The wedding is over (it was beautiful...more on that later) and I am finally tackling the rhythm with a baby on the move.

I am a blog lover and I have many I read everyday (most listed in my "blogs I love section"). Luckily some of the blog's I read have little "link parties" I have decided to get out of my hole and participate. This should help with obtaining more blog traffic as well as helping me to discover more blog loving momma's. Soooo I promise to have another post up today...after I change a baby bum...read a book...feed a bottle..put down for nap...start dinner...(you know the routine). But I will leave you with a couple of photo's of our shenanigans over the last couple of months. What is a blog post without photos.....boring!!!

Kellan is loving all things books lately, he will sit contently as I read to him and he LOVES to turn the pages (board books only we are still working on not ripping pages).
We have been discovering new things the washing machine provides a lot of entertainment in this house as I am a slave to that machine!!

We have been enjoying the beautiful weather outside with long walks with our grams (he didn't make it all the way home in this one) and grilling outside while Kellan cruises in his jeep.

We celebrated Kellan's first Easter at Grandma and Grandpa's...look at my handsome men :)

Pinterest got me all crafty...I made Kellan this little pouf...for him to read his books on...adorable :)

Another Pinterest project....I made chalkboard paint and created a board on our pantry door to write down our never ending grocery list.

This momma left her baby for a whole weekend... and survived...need I say I actually had fun...we celebrated my sister's bachelorette in Chicago...trouble ensued with these three girls ;).

Baby Proofing!!! It has begun...this child is into everything and has a severe love for all thing's death trap like...aka stairs! We put an end to his stunt man way's with this fancy baby gate (which I LOVE!)
